Badlands' is inherently about depression and thoughts of suicide and the afterlife. While the song is riddled with introspective thoughts that I was having at the time, it serves as a reminder that depression is a very dark subject that can worsen if not treated properly. But it is something that we all go through and in writing this song it helped me vent and release those feelings. Just remember. You are never alone.
